Product Description:
Enoxabid Tablet 400mg is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent containing Enoxacin, a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Each tablet delivers 400mg of Enoxacin, formulated for oral administration. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, particularly those affecting the urinary tract, respiratory system, and genital tract.
The 2x10s packaging configuration ensures patient convenience, dosing compliance, and product protection from environmental factors.
Indications / Uses:
Enoxabid 400mg is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including:
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
- Chronic bacterial prostatitis
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea
- Chlamydial infections (as adjunct therapy)
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections (off-label and only when no safer alternatives exist)
Note: Use is limited to specific cases due to safety concerns with fluoroquinolones.
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults: 400 mg every 12 hours, depending on the severity and site of infection
- Administration: Swallowed whole with water, preferably on an empty stomach
- Duration: Typically, 5–10 days; follow physician’s guidance
Avoid concomitant use with dairy, iron, or antacids to ensure proper absorption.
Mechanism of Action:
Enoxacin inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential for DNA replication and cell division. Its bactericidal action effectively halts bacterial proliferation.
