Hilrace is known as a prodrug. Once inside your body it is broken down into an active ingredient called thiorphan. Thiorphan reduces the amount of watery secretions that are produced by your intestines. This helps to reduce the amount of fluid that your body loses. In turn, this reduces the symptoms of diarrhoea and helps reduce the risk of dehydration.

Indication

It is used for the treatment of diarrhoea.

When not to Use

If your child is allergic to racecadotril or any of the other ingredients . If you have been told by your doctor that your child has intolerance to some sugars, ask your doctor before you give racecadotril to your child.
