Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators (e.g., prostaglandins, leukotrienes). It also suppresses immune responses and reduces capillary permeability, decreasing inflammation and swelling.

Drug Interactions 

The drug interactions with hydrocortisone include: 

Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) – Can increase bleeding risk. 

CYP3A4 Inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole) – Can increase hydrocortisone levels.
