Description
RYBIO 400mg Capsule (Ribavirin) is an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis C in combination with other antiviral agents. Ribavirin works by inhibiting viral replication, thereby reducing the amount of virus in the body.
🩺 Indications
RYBIO 400mg Capsule is indicated for:
- Chronic Hepatitis C infection
- In combination with other antiviral agents for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C
⚙️ Mechanism of Action
Ribavirin is a nucleoside analog that interferes with viral RNA synthesis and capping, inhibiting viral replication. It is metabolized intracellularly to its active form, ribavirin triphosphate, which incorporates into viral RNA, leading to lethal mutagenesis and inhibition of viral replication.
