Description
Interferon Alfa-2b is a man made protein similar to naturally occurring interferons that has antiproliferative cytotoxic and antiangiogenic properties. It helps in combating viral infections and cancerous growths.

Hepatitis C and Melanoma
Indications
It is indicated for treating various types of cancers such as hairy cell leukaemia, chronic myelogenous leukaemia, multiple myeloma, AIDS related Kaposi’s sarcoma, malignant melanoma non hodgkin lymphoma. Interferon Alfa-2b is also used for treating genital warts and severe viral infections such as chronic hepatitis B and C.
Side Effects
This medicine is known to cause sideffects which includes: Influenze (Flu) like symptoms , stomach and nervous system (brain like) effects, seizures, hyperglycemia (increased blood sugar).
