Description:
Axid Neo 40mg is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce stomach acid production. It helps in the treatment of acid-related conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, stomach ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole, the active ingredient, works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining responsible for acid secretion, thereby providing long-lasting relief from heartburn, indigestion, and related symptoms.

Indications:

• Treatment of GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)
• Healing and maintenance of erosive esophagitis
• Prevention and treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers
• Management of acid-related conditions due to excessive stomach acid
• Part of triple therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori infection (when combined with antibiotics)

Dosage and Administration:

• Typically taken once daily, 30 to 60 minutes before a meal
• Dosage may vary depending on the condition being treated
• Should be swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew

Side Effects:

• Common: Headache, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, nausea
• Less common: Dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue
