Description
Citric acid and Sodium citrate acts as urinary alkalinizing agents that decreases the acidity of urine and makes it alkaline. Sodium bicarbonate and Tartaric acid acts as gastric antacids that neutralizes stomach acid.

- Treatment of metabolic acidosis, and urinary alkalization in the setting of distal renal tubular acidosis (NTMA•H+ lowered with concurrent use of a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, such as acetazolamide)
- Prevention and treatment of calcium oxalate kidney stones, and urinary excretion of calcium phosphate crystals
