INDICATIONS
This medication is used as oral contraception ( in the prevention of pregnancy).
PRECAUTIONS
Patients with family history of venous thromboembolism or arterial disease as well as diseases like hypertension(high blood pressure) , cardiac failure(heart failure) , renal (kidney) impairment, epilepsy (seizure), obesity , diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases (GI problems ), smoking , migraine and others. Contact your healthcare provider for more details and inform them of your complete medical history and diseases. Patients allergic to this medication or to any other medications should also inform their doctors .
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Avoid this medicine if you’re pregnant. Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any of these conditions; Jaundice, severe liver disease, benign or malignant liver tumours.
SIDE EFFECTS
Breast enlargement , tenderness , pain ,edema( fluid retention in body) , depression, loss of libido(loss in desire to have sexual activity) , weight gain , GI upset , vaginal infections and discharge(fluid released from vagina) , breakthrough bleeding , skin reactions, hypertension (high blood pressure), pelvic pain(pain the region of the reproductive organs).

These medications should not be used by pregnant females. Contact your healthcare provider for further details.
LACTATION
Females using this as a contraceptive should wait 6 weeks postpartum (after childbirth ) if lactating as it may reduce the milk production slightly. Use the lowest dose and contact your healthcare provider for further details.
