Moxifloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. By targeting these enzymes, moxifloxacin disrupts the supercoiling and separation of bacterial DNA strands, thereby preventing bacterial cell division and leading to cell death.

Uses
