Description
Piperacillin and Tazobactam Injection is a combination antibiotic. Piperacillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin-class beta-lactam antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), disrupting the synthesis of peptidoglycan, which is a critical component of the bacterial cell wall. This leads to cell wall weakening, lysis, and ultimately bacterial death.
